  When choosing an attorney, honesty and trustworthiness should be important. In July 2017 the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board suspended Mr. Sherman's license to practice law for one year because of "conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, misrepresentation, or violation of a criminal law, where such conduct reflects adversely on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer".
